Hoops Lessons & Clinics
Mo, as a former player and active coach, strongly reinforces her belief that basketball, like any sport or craft, is built upon fundamentals, repetition, self-discipline, determination and passion. She works at connecting and building her drills from the basic to the advanced, and breaking them down for each player, coach and team so that they can maximize their ability, keep the game simple, and see positive results.
Mo recommends that players work with her for a minimal amount of sessions, usually a set of five spread out over 3-5 weeks. In addition to teaching players how to efficiently practice on the own, Mo specializes in teaches proper shooting form. After an assessment of one’s shot, she works on basics for the beginner where she reconstructs shot form and builds proper technique over time. Young players who strictly follow Mo's rules and drills, and practice between sessions see major improvements. For the veteran player, where it might be too challenging and frustrating to start over, Mo tweaks some form issues and focuses on the foundation of the shotfootworkwhich often helps correct weaknesses in form and improves accuracy.
In a team setting, Mo works with a coach on areas of emphasis and then implements not only a series of drills, but a program that keeps all players moving and involved. Mo does as little standing around as possible, for she believes that players, after a review of proper form and stance, need to exercise their decision-making and build their confidence under pressure as often as possible.
